Kevin Hart Says Tony Hinchcliffe Had One Of The Best Sets Overall At His Roast, But The George Floyd Joke Wasn’t ‘Tasteful’ + Pushes Back On The Narrative He Should Have Dors More: ‘Stop Talking As If I Said It‘

#KevinHart is finally addressing the criticism surrounding his Netflix roast.

Speaking with The Breakfast Club, Kevin wasted no time admitting that #TonyHinchcliffe’s George Floyd joke “wasn’t tasteful,” but he didn’t expect anything more or less from the fellow comedian. However, Kevin dubbed Tony’s set one of the best of the night, suggesting that should be the bigger takeaway, rather than the controversial moment.

He also responded to critics — including Floyd’s brother — who felt he should’ve done more than laugh it off, making it clear he stands by how he handled things. Kevin noted that he faced his own wave of harsh jokes during the event and is ultimately “going to appreciate humor.”

While he revealed he immediately cleared the air with former NBA player Stephen Jackson, a close friend of Floyd, Kevin doubled down that he wasn’t the one behind the joke. “My last note to all attached to this is very simple…remove me from it, I didn’t say it,” he said, emphasizing that he did his job in delivering a successful roast. He added, “Stop talking, as if I said it…I didn’t disrespect the family.” (SWIPE)
