Jennifer Lopez Says Her Divorce From Ben Affleck Became A Wake-Up Call: ‘F*king Figure Yourself Out’

Jennifer Lopez is opening up about the hard lesson that came after her split from Ben Affleck.

During the Monday, June 15 episode of the “SmartLess” podcast, Lopez reflected on her 2025 divorce from Affleck and said the breakup forced her to take a serious look inward. The marriage marked Lopez’s fourth and Affleck’s second, coming years after their early 2000s romance and later reconciliation in 2022.

“After my last divorce, I just sat there and I canceled my Torah and I sat there and I was just like, you need to f*cking figure yourself out,” Lopez said. “What is going on with you? Forget about everybody else. There’s nobody to blame here except yourself in a certain way.”

She added, “Not that people don’t behave in a way that’s not great, but what are you doing?” Lopez called that realization a “turning point.”

Although their marriage ended, Lopez and Affleck appear to remain on good terms. Affleck also helped push for Lopez to land the lead role in “Kiss of the Spider-Woman.”

Still, Lopez said she is not rushing into love again.

“I’m not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now,” she said. “I’ll meet somebody somewhere one day if they’re good enough.”
