Takeoff’s Mom Says Father Was “Barely Present” In Rapper’s Life Amid Fight Over Wrongful Death Settlement
A new legal dispute has emerged within Takeoff’s family as the late rapper’s parents reportedly battle over how money from a wrongful d*ath settlement should be divided. According to TMZ, Takeoff’s mother, Titania Davenport, and father, Kenneth Ball, are at odds over the distribution of funds connected to litigation stemming from the rapper’s 2022 de+th.
Reportedly, Davenport argues she was the parent primarily responsible for raising Takeoff, whose real name was Kirsnick Ball. In the filing, she reportedly describes having a close and nurturing relationship with her son throughout his life and claims she provided most of his financial support until adulthood. She also allegedly contends that Kenneth Ball played a limited role in Takeoff’s upbringing.
The disagreement centers on proceeds from a wrongful death lawsuit originally filed by Davenport against the Houston bowling alley where Takeoff was f#tally shot in November 2022. The lawsuit alleged the venue failed to provide adequate security measures on the night of the shooting.
Kenneth Ball has previously asserted his legal right to participate in litigation tied to his son’s de*th, joining the wrongful d•ath case in late 2023.
Takeoff, a member of the Grammy-nominated rap trio Migos alongside Quavo and Offset, was k^lled at age 28 outside a Houston bowling alley. His de!th sent shockwaves through the music industry and sparked multiple legal proceedings in the years that followed.
