“Today’ Show Fires Security Guard After Intruder Looking For Al Roker Allegedly Confronted Craig Melvin With R@cial Slur

A frightening security breach at NBC’s Today show has reportedly led to the firing of a security guard after an intruder allegedly made his way inside the studio while looking for longtime weatherman Al Roker.

According to reports, the man bypassed security at 30 Rockefeller Plaza on Thursday morning before confronting Today co-anchor Craig Melvin in a restricted area near Studio 1A. Sources say the intruder was searching for Roker but instead allegedly directed a racial slur at Melvin during the encounter.

The suspect, identified by authorities as 41-year-old Andrew Truelove, was quickly detained by security personnel and arrested by the NYPD. Prosecutors have reportedly charged him with multiple offenses, including burglary, menacing, criminal trespass, and harassment, all with hate crime enhancements. No injuries were reported.

Following an internal review, NBC News reportedly terminated a security guard who investigators believe failed to stop the man from entering the secured area. Sources cited by Page Six claim surveillance footage showed one guard stepping away while another allegedly failed to notice the intruder slipping through.

Melvin later reassured viewers and supporters that he was doing well following the ordeal, telling fans he was “safe and sound.”
