Grammy-Nominated Opera Star Jubilant Sykes Was St*bbed 78 Times By His Son In December Att*ck, New Report Confirms
Seven months after Grammy nominated opera singer Jubilant Sykes was k*lled inside his Santa Monica home, newly released autopsy records are revealing the brutality of his d*ath.
According to Us Weekly, the 71-year-old’s cause of d*ath was listed as “multiple st*b wounds,” with authorities recording 78 wounds and classifying the d*ath as “homicide.”
Sykes was found d*ad on December 8, 2025, and his 32-year-old son, Micah Sykes, was later arrested.
According to the report, Sykes’ wife told police “her son, who has a documented history of mental illness, had st*bbed and k*lled” her husband. Investigators said she was showering when she heard him yell for her to call 911. When she emerged, she allegedly saw Micah standing over him with a weapon.
Police recovered a blood stained 10 pound dumbbell and a curved knife with a nine inch blade near the body.
Micah remains jailed without bail. His arraignment, previously scheduled for June, has reportedly been delayed until August 6.
Toxicology testing found no illicit dr*gs or prescribed medications.
