OMG Girlz singer Bahja Rodriguez is opening up about her family background, revealing a connection to one of R&B’s most popular groups of the ’90s.

During a preview of her upcoming appearance on Reginae Carter’s Heir Time podcast, Bahja, also known as Beauty from OMG Girlz, explained that she has two fathers. She revealed that her biological father is John-John Rasboro, a member of the R&B group Silk, but that she was raised by her sister’s father.

The revelation surprised many fans who were unaware of Bahja’s musical roots. Silk rose to fame in the ’90s with hits including “Freak Me,” “Meeting in My Bedroom” and “Lose Control.” Bahja later followed her own path in the music industry as a member of OMG Girlz alongside Zonnique Pullins and Breaunna Womack.
