Grits & Eggs Podcast Host Deante’ Kyle Explains Why He Didn’t Want To Become A Podcaster: “I Don’t Want To Be One Of These Corny-Ass N****s”

Grits & Eggs Podcast host Deante’ Kyle is opening up about why he initially had no interest in becoming a podcaster, revealing that his frustrations with certain aspects of hip-hop culture and the reputation of male podcasters made him hesitant to enter the industry.

During a recent interview with theJasmineBrand founder Jasmine Brand, Deante’ explained that his podcast was born out of audience demand. Before launching his platform, he had already begun sharing his opinions on TikTok, including his criticism of certain rappers. He specifically called out Meek Mill for what he perceived as submissive behavior toward a white billionaire despite the tough persona portrayed in his music.

“Meek Mill was, like, bunny hopping for this fing white billionaire,” Deante’ said. “All your music, you threaten ns, like, you threaten to kill ns, like, you a n* that nobody need to play with all this super-duper street sht, but you are being, like, extremely submissive to this f**ing cracker, bro.”

Deante’ also expressed frustration with male podcast culture, particularly hosts who build their platforms around controversial conversations about women. “Men in the podcast space at that time have, like, a horrible reputation,” he explained. “It’s men getting on podcasts, saying sht just to say sht.” He added, “All you ns is corny, bro. Like, I don’t want to be one of these corny-ass ns.”

At the time, Deante’ was already working as a truck driver and earning approximately $2,500 a month from TikTok, leaving him with little interest in pursuing podcasting. However, encouragement from his growing audience eventually convinced him to give it a shot. What started as a career path he wanted no part of ultimately became Grits & Eggs, a platform where he could share his unfiltered opinions and challenge the very conversations that initially turned him away from podcasting.
