What happened on Real Housewives of Atl? + Ratings Down?

If you missed the second episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA), don’t fret–we’ve got Yosh’s weekly recap. In this episode, Kandi discusses some financial issues w/ Kim’s single, Sheree goes on a date, the newest cast member is introduced, Nene has issues w/ her son, and Phaedra’s concerns are raised at her doctor’s visit.

The episode starts off with Kandi in the studio with producer and writer, Ne-Yo. She talks to him about her writing Kim’s first single, Tardy for the Party and not receiving any royalties for it.

Sheree gets ready for a blind date with Dr. Tye-E. Muhummad. He sends her car service to bring her over to the jukejoint for some dancing! Sheree is so damn bougie! Even disses the man’s flowers! Ugh! Obviously the rest of the date goes well because she asks him on a 2^nd date! Go bish!!!! I think the fact that he’s a Dr. made her do that. ::shrugs::

In this episode, we meet Cynthia, who’s a supermodel that has traveled the world. She’s engaged to Peter Thomas and seems to be indecisive about this marriage, as she’s been engaged twice before. (BTW, the couple own’s Uptown Supper Club in Atlanta.) Cynthia’s fiance, Peter,  has given her an ultimatum concerning their pending nuptials, as home boy’s almost a senior citizen.  As we noted before, she’s been engaged three times and is basically a “runaway bride”. She likes the thought of men wanting to marry her. Her words, not mine. The hell is wrong with this chick! Did I mention she is actor Leon’s baby momma?

NeNe puts her son Brice out (of her home) because he continues to decline with his behavior (yes, decline w/ his behavior). He doesn’t work, is not enrolled in school and nor does he contribute to the household. He also parties all night long and has been in trouble with the law. During this episode, Brice visits Nene and asks her to come back home. Like a typical loving mother, she welcomes him back home.

Phaedra visits the doctor with her husband Apollo and her mother Pastor Parks. They discuss the fact that Phaedra doesn’t want to be an ‘old mother.’ They also discuss Phaedra getting a nanny. More importantly, they learn that Phaedra is having a boy!

Kandi is performing at Cynthia’s Uptown Supper Club. Everybody who is anybody seems to be present. So of course, everybody is wondering if Dwight and  his nose are coming.  Kandi even goes as far as asking if they have extra security! (Really, Kandi?) They sure know how to hold all the drama until the end of the show! Low and behold, Dwight shows up with Phaedra and her husband. During this time, Sheree’s fabulous girlfriend Lawrence (that got damn jacket he had on was disrespectful, particularly the shoulder pads) lets the cat out of the bag that Phaedra’s husband just recently got out of jail! Sheree thinks it interesting that he knows Lawrence and has been in jail with men :: peaks over glasses, How you doin?::

After the performance, Cynthia comes over to NeNe and asks her if she wanted to talk privately with Dwight because she didn’t want a scene in her place of business. CLASS ACT! Protect your brand girl. Fast forward, Nene confront Dwight about the $10Gs. NeNe expressed to him that she was hurt that she invited Dwight into her home, brought her around her kids and husband, and this is how he handled the situation. She feels he was supposed to be there for her through one of the roughest times (She put Greg out the house, FYI). He agrees that Nene was right about a lot of things and he apologizes for his actions. They seem to have put it behind them, but NeNe says she’ll never forget.

By the way, according to AJC, this season’s ratings aren’t shaping up so well. Last week’s season three debut drew 2.4 million viewers, down from the 2.7 million who watched the second season launch. I’ll be back for a comparison next week.
