Gabrielle Union Fights Breast Cancer In DC, Hits Susan G Komen ‘Race for the Cure’

Over the weekend, actress 39-year-old actress Gabrielle Union took her talents to Washington, DC, to lend her support for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Union, who’s been vocal in lending her energy to this cause, lost her good friend, Kristen Martinez, to breast cancer. Two years ago, in an interview, Union penned a letter about Kristen’s battle:
At the age of 31, Kristen was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. While she knew wasn’t going to beat her diagnosis, she was determined to live life fully and try everything possible to extend her time with us. She more than succeeded. She became a fierce activist and strong voice for young women living with metastatic disease and she took her fight all the way to the white house…she couldn’t be stopped.
Before heading to the race, Union tweeted:
