Aretha Franklin Walks Across the Stage, Gets Laced With Honorary Princeton Degree

Over the weekend, the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin was laced with a prestigious award from Princeton University. The Ivy League institution gave the 70-year-old singer an honorary doctorate of music. When handing her degree (she was one of six people), the University trustee Stephen Oxman shared:
‘With her singular Amazing Grace, she continues to traverse musical bridges over troubled water, and by reminding us to think, do right and call on her, the Queen of Soul will forever command the world’s R-E-S-P-E-C-T.’
Congrats Miss Franklin! [Daily Mail]
