[Video] Jay-Z Rides Subway With Elderly Woman, Tells Her ‘I’m not very Famous.’
Hands down. One of my favorite parts of Jay-Z’s ‘Where I’m From’ documentary, has to be a 30 second conversation with an older woman by the name of Ellen. If you’ve watched the 24 minute documentary, you peeped the part of the film where Jay-Z decided to take the subway to Brooklyn, for his final performance. Well, when riding the train, he happened to sit next to a woman by the named Ellen. Ellen seems to notice the cameras and fuss surrounding Jigga, and asks what he does for a living. Jay replies:
“I make music. I’m not very famous; you don’t know me. LOL. I’ll get there some day. I’m on my way to a performance in Brooklyn at the new Brooklyn arena.”
And Ellen replies:
“Oh, that’s fabulous. You’re going by subway? I’m proud of you.”
And after Jay shares his entire name (Jay-Z), a lightening bulb seems to go off and Ellen replies:
“Oh! You’re Jay-Z? I know about Jay-Z.”
