Meagan Good’s ‘Deception’ Rumored to Be Canceled + Dionne Warwick Files Bankruptcy, Says Monthly She Only Has $10
Not so good TV news for actors Laz Alonso and Meagan Good. TV By the Numbers is reporting that NBC’s new show, ‘Deception’ is likely to be cancelled. Created by Liz Heldens, the show’s plot centered around a famous socialite named Vivian Bowers, who was found dead in a motel room from what appeared to be a drug overdose.
Her estranged best friend Detective Joanna Locasto (played by Meagan) was re-embraced by the wealthy Bowers family. The last episode aired last week. Story is still developing as to ratings news, along with rationale as to why the show is rumored to not be renewed.
And in more unpleasant news, the legendary Dionne Warwick has filed bankruptcy. AP reports that the 72-year-old has just $25,500 in assets and $10.7 million in debts, according to her 50-page filing last week in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Newark. What’s more? Reportedly, each month, she is left with just $10 after covering her expenses. So the big question is, after 50 years in the business, what happened to her money? The vast majority of her debt is $10.2 million in tax claims from the IRS and the state of California. The NY Daily News reports she also owes a former manager about $500,000, and ran up a $20,000 Visa card debt. Her publicist, Kevin Sasaki, blames
“negligent and gross financial mismanagement”
during the 1980s and 1990s for her current financial woes. He also blames her large tax debt from penalties and interest on back taxes where the principal has since been paid off, he said. Geesh! I guess there’s a reason why Oprah signs all of her checks.
