Lil Wayne Happy About Leak, Breaks iTunes Record & Plans Show w/ Eminem

Most artists hate it when their albums get leaked before the official release date. But Lil Wayne is quite happy that “Tha Carter IV” leaked 5 days early. He told MTV News
“We did real good this time, real good. It just means people want to hear it. I mean, ’cause there are people’s albums that come out that can be leaked and don’t leak. So I’m glad mines leaked.”
His label-mate, Mack Maine, also has some words of approval. He said,
“I think we should still do well. The leak shouldn’t have affected it that much. Actually, this is the first time that the albums leaked so close [to the release date]. Tha Carter III leaked two weeks before and we still did [1 million] the first week. So if history repeats itself, we shouldn’t have any problems.”
Also important to note that Weezy’s album has broke “Watch The Throne” iTunes record. In its first 4 days, “Tha Carter IV” has already sold 300,000 copies. “Watch The Throne” only sold 290,000 in its entire first week! Billboard experts explain why they think Lil Wayne has done so well.
“Carter’s achievement is all the more impressive as it’s available through all digital and physical retailers, not just iTunes. Comparatively, “Throne” was sold exclusively through iTunes for its first four days of release.”

Meanwhile, over the weekend, it was announced (via the Herald Sun) Eminem and Lil Wayne will be headlining a six-hour show in Sydney and Melbourne, on December 1st. Em and Weezy will be performing a full set of their hits from past to present. Tickets will be available on September 13th, at 9 a.m., for $150.
