Kim Kardashian’s Mom Defends Divorce, Denies Kim Made Money Off Wedding
The media world has been in a frenzy since word of the end of 72 day marriage between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries went down, literally. Opinions and allegations have been running rampant and key players in the situation have come forward to set the record straight (sorta, kinda). In an interview with Johnjay and Rich, Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner, explained:
“[Kim’s] not the first person in the world to get a divorce or have something like this happen to, and she won’t be the last. She just happens to be a very public person with a couple of television shows on the air so it makes it bigger than life… People have to stop judging. Take a step back. Let Kim do what she needs to do and just be supportive . It’s not easy.”
One of the more surprising comments by Kim’s mother, addressed the thought that Kim made money off of her wedding. As you’ll recall, she had a two-part wedding special, “Kim’s Fairy Tale Wedding: A Kardashian Event,” which premiered on E! Kris explained:
“She didn’t make a dime off this wedding. She actually spent millions of dollars on this wedding, so it’s not something that she thought would ever not be happily ever after.”
And what about all of those effing wedding gifts,
“I’m sure Kim will make a ginormous donation, as she always does all the time anyway, very quietly, to a wonderfully deserving charity or children’s hospital or something like that.”
Looks like mom was right, as Kim posted a message on her blog stating,
“There are reports that I made millions of dollars off of the wedding. These reports are simply not true and it makes me so sad to have to even clarify this. I’m so grateful to everyone who took the time to come to my wedding and i’ll be donating the money for all the gifts to the Dream Foundation.”
Word is she plans to give the organization a $200,000 check. Meanwhile, Kris Humphries’ parents also expressed their hurt in the divorce. They insist that Kim is making a massive mistake and that she never gave the marriage a fighting chance. They still believe that Kris can save the marriage and convince Kim to reconsider. They hope the divorce doesn’t go through as “it would kill Kris.” Talk about a dysfunctional family. Sheesh.
