Tiger Woods’ Losing Streak is OVAH :: Wins World Challenge

After more than 2 years and a whopping 26 tournaments with no wins, Tiger Woods is officially back. After putting a 6-foot birdie putt shot to shame, Tiger won against former champion Zach Johnson. I guess getting a new caddie was the best thing for Tiger. Back in November, Tiger and former caddie Steve Williams parted ways after Tiger told the media, “It’s time for a change.” And apparently that, along with a number of other factors (I’m sure), helped. This is Tiger’s 83rd win, but his first win since his Australian Masters Championship in November 2009. Peep what Tiger had to say.
On The Tournament:
“I felt normal, felt very comfortable…I’ve been here so many times that, you know, I just feel very comfortable being here in this position. Was I nervous? Absolutely. Always nervous in that position. But it’s a comfortable feeling, and I enjoy being in that position. For some reason, it’s kind of a comfort to be in there with a chance to win.”
On Not Taking This Win For Granted:
“They all feel good. They’re not easy. People don’t realize how hard it is to win golf tournaments. I’ve gone on streaks where I’ve won golf tournaments in a row, but still… I don’t think I’ve taken it for granted. And I know because of how hard it is.”
After receiving his winnings, Tiger donated 1.2 million to his foundation. He also moved from the #52 spot on the golf ranking chart to spot #21. Not bad. Tiger will take some time off but is starting back at the end of January next year. Peep the winning shot below.
