Elle Varner Talks Weight Issues, “I was eating all of this crap, I was heavy.”

In a recent interview, Elle Varner explained that she didn’t really think that she had what it took, to make it in the music industry. Initially, she thought that she’d be behind the scenes in A&R, or a producer or writer. She also shares that growing up she was heavy and wasn’t the cool kid…
“Not having a social life, really helped me….I stuck around my family and developed my craft.”
Of her weight in college, she explained:
“I was eating all this crap, going out and partying…that puts weight on…I work out a lot. Right now, I’m a vegan…I still love food. I just have changed my portions and enjoy being healthy.”
She continued,
“Jill Scott, Jennifer Hudson are some of the girls that aren’t skinny, who penetrated the market…they challenged the norm. I definitely knew that my music was good enough, that people would accept me either way; the reality is that it does help…The beautiful thing is that nobody pressured me to do it [lose weight].”
