[Updated] Drake Responds to Being Sued by Ex Girlfriend for Using Her Voice on “Marvin’s Room”

A woman by the name of Ericka Lee, who alleges to be the ex-girlfriend of Drake, is suing him for co-writer royalties from his hit song, “Marvin’s Room.” Lee claims that she is the actual voice on the other end of the phone that Drake is singing to on the song. Drake purportedly gave Lee credit as a “vocalist” on the song as “Syren Lyric Muse.” Nonetheless, she asserts that she has not been compensated properly and filed a lawsuit. In the suit, she claims that the two had a romantic and business partnership. She also claims that they had traded poems, lyrics, etc. Their relationship eventually ended and the two never came to an agreement over the song. Lee claims to have text messages as proof to what he offered in terms of royalties. Peep the full story here. [Updated] Drake’s camp has responded to part of Ericka’s claim. In the suit, she alleges that Drake threatened her, when she would not back off about payment for the song. Drake’s camp responded saying,

“This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct….Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court.”
