[Video] 15 Years Later :: Jan, Biggie’s Child’s Mother, Opens Up :: Talks Lil Kim, Diddy & Why ‘Notorious’ Was In accurate

Friday, March 9th, marks the 15th anniversary of the death of Notorious B.I.G. (real name Christopher George Latore Wallace). B.I.G.’s daughter, T’yanna and her mother, Jan, spot by NYC’s Hot 97 to discuss their history and relationship with Faith Evans, Lil Kim, Charlie Baltimore and how accurate or inaccurate, the movie, Notorious was. Peep a few excerpts:
On where she was, when she found out Biggie had died:
“I was home, in my house..I had thrown a lil Soul Train party….I had spoken to him, a couple hours before….It was kinda surreal to me…”
On what their relationship was at the time of his death:
“Friends is not a strong enough word…It was more than just that…”
On if ‘Notorious’ was an accurate portrayal of B.I.G. and his life:
“I would say 75%…some of the things that were insinuated weren’t true…I wasn’t teen when I had my daughter….I was 22, he was 21…it wasn’t a fly-by-night thing….”
On what her relationship was like when B.I.G. was married to Faith:
“I was not cool w/ Faith…..She didn’t get integrated into the relationship yet…”
On what their relationship is like now with Faith:
“I call her my wife-in-law…everything is cool. It feels so natural…”
On T’yanna’s feelings about Faith:
“She’s just my step-mom. It’s not an awkward thing. CJ is 15…I was on set w/ him when he was filming..”
On if Diddy offered her help, after Biggie passed:
“Tionna has a trust fund in place…Umm, I don’t wanna say ‘yay or nay’..The politically correct thing to say is, ‘My daughter is taken care of by her father’ that’s not to say that no one else has helped….
On if she has any relationship with Lil Kim:
“Faith and I have a common thread. We don’t run in the same circles. I’m home raising my daughter, doing what mothers do…It’s just no common thread…If I saw her somewhere, I def. would speak and she would speak back….”
On Charlie Baltimore:
“She’s cool…There’s no animonsity there….”
