Jennifer Hudson’s Sister Testifies + Recalls, “I’ll Kill Your Family First And Then I’ll Kill You”

The trial for the murder of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother, and nephew continued in Chicago today. Both Hudson and her sister, Julia, have taken the stand to testify against William Balfour, Jennifer’s brother-in-law. In her tearful testimony, Jennifer admitted that she never wanted her sister to marry Balfour. She told the court:
“I told her over and over again to not marry him. We did not like how he treated her.”
When Julia Hudson took the stand, she expressed that after she and Balfour separated in February 2008, he threatened to kill her and her family. She recalled him telling her,
“Julia, if you leave, I’ll kill you. I’ll kill your family first and then I’ll kill you – you will be the last to die.”
In fact, Julia alleges that Balfour threatened to harm the Hudson family at least 25 times. Balfour’s defense is that Jennifer Hudson’s brother was a drug dealer, and the murders were a result of a deal gone wrong. The trial will continue tomorrow.
