Oprah Winfrey is hitting the road. The 59-year-old multimedia queen will film a new episode of her series Oprah’s Lifeclass at Bishop T.D. Jakes, Megafest 2013, one of the country’s biggest Christian events. The multi-day event will kick off August 29 at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas. Winfrey and Bishop Jakes will continue the conversation on the fatherless sons and daughters who are struggling and in need of healing, initiated earlier this year. Pastors Creflo Dollar of Atlanta’s World Changers International Church and Joel Osteen of Houston’s Lakewood Church will also join the MegaFest lineup. Recently, Osteen expressed his excitement bout the upcoming event stating:
We don’t have enough opportunities these days, and so when you called and invited us I thought ‘What a great thing to be a part of. I’m inviting everyone to come along to Dallas. You are always looking for an excuse to come together. Why not get together with other believers? Get inspired in your faith, and have fun at the same time.”
Jakes said about Megafest:
Whether you come on your own or with family and friends, one thing is for sure: people attending MegaFest will find joy, fun, great music, encouraging community and powerful messages of inspiration, hope and purpose.”
The OWN Network is coming off the most successful quarter ranking in the top five cable networks for African-American women. Dark Girls, Tyler Perry’s, The Have and Have Nots, Love Thy Neighbor, Raising Whitley, Life With Latoya, Iyanla: Fix My Life and Oprah’s Lifeclass have been rating successes.
The MegaFest filmed episode of Oprah’s Lifeclass will air in September on OWN.
