When the Real Housewives of Atlanta teaser hit, there were glimpses of tensions between Kenya Moore and Phaedra Parks’ husband, Apollo. In fact, on the reunion show, there were comments about the two texting each other. Fast forward to the present day and this season, a few folk are up in arms, suggesting that Kenya is all types of wrong and inappropriate for texting a married man. While we’ve yet to hear Apollo defend himself, Kenya gave her side of things this week while visiting Bethenny, with reality star co-star, Kandi. We’ve transcribed their conversation for your reading pleasure :0)

Bethenny

So what happened with Phaedra’s husband, the texting or the alleged texting with you, what happened?

Kenya

I mean its really simple. I think it’ll reveal itself on the show, but I made a comment because someone said something that wasn’t nice about me, and I’m like well, if you don’t care for me and you think I’m all of these negative things, then stop texting me. So thats how…

Bethenny

So he (Phaedra’s husband Apollo) had been texting you?

Kenya

Yeah!

Bethenny

Really?! Well let me just ask you a question. In the event that the whole thing like…

Kandi (interjects to Kenya)

Wait, ya’ll had been texting each other correct?

Kenya

Yeah, it was friendly, but he initiated the text. Every single time.

Kandi

Okay, So you say.

Bethenny

Engaging?

Kenya

Yeah

Bethenny

You engaging means you’re putting a flirt on.

Kenya

Yeah, yeah, it wasn’t flirting though.

Kandi

Well, she (Kenya), showed me the text, she showed me the text, I didn’t see anything to crazy. But she did say in one of the text, she said, “Hey babe”. Who the hell says “hey babe” to some…

Kenya

I didn’t say hey babe, I said…

Kandi

You did…

Kenya

I said.

Kandi

Hey babe!

Kenya

No, no it was an answer. It was like, “yes babe”. But I did use the word babe, but I didnt use the word ba-by. Now see baby is the difference right?

Kandi

No.

Kenya

Yes, baby is the difference.

Kandi

You not gon’ say babe to my man.

Bethenny (to Kenya & Kandi)

Lets bring up something. About, you know, if someone who’s married texts me, am I allowed to text them back? Am I supposed to say please don’t text me? What is the proper protocol? What are you supposed to do? What if someone…

Kenya

I think its ridiculous to think you can never text a married person thats of the opposite sex. I think that its appropriate if your, if your wife knows…

Kandi

You never can text them and say “hey babe”. You can’t say that. Can’t say that.

Bethenny

Right, no. It’s one of the things we would talk about on the show as a topic. Because its easy to text somebody back, I mean its easy to text somebody back, but then all of a sudden you’re like, “oohh, should I have texted that person back?” Because now, but you also don’t wanna make a big thing and say something. So, I’m just saying, just saying.

Kenya

I think long as your wife knows…

Kandi

I think there are rules to it. Its things like the time of day that the text are happening. You know…

Kenya

Yeah, true.

Bethenny

No, because we revealed the other, um, a couple weeks ago, that men who are married, are usually stepping out during the day.

Kenya

Oh, cause they’re home at night.

Kandi

Really?!

Bethenny

Yes, because its during the day when they’re working.

Kandi

Oh…

Kenya

Hmmm…

Watch the clip:

We’re gonna keep our comments to ourselves, but what are YOUR thoughts? Is Kenya wrong for texting Apollo? And if so, should the blame lay with Apollo?
