Hoda Kotb Paid $18 Million Less Than Matt Lauer on “Today”
Rumor has it, Hoda Kotb secured the bag, but it’s not as heavy as Matt Lauer’s.
This week, Hoda officially replaced Matt Lauer as co-host on “Today”. According to reports, Hoda is making significantly less than Matt. It’s speculated that the 53-year-old anchor is paid around $18 million less per year than Matt, who was fired over alleged inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace. Prior to being axed, Matt was allegedly making $25 million a year.
Reportedly, Hoda makes $7 million a year. This is said to be the same amount as co-host Savannah Guthrie. Hoda’s check may be significantly less than Matt’s, as he had been on the show for 20+ years.
As previously reported, Hoda will continue hosting with Kathie Lee Gifford at 10 a.m.

If it took him 20+ years to earn 25 million a year, then she has some work to put in to earn that. That’s not really a salary gap. If I commit to a job for several years, I would not want the new person to come in making the same amount of money as me, that’s an insult! Make her work for it. What are her accolades? How long has she been with the show. And I am sure she received some incentives and an increase in pay for accepting his position.
25 million for what?? Reporting stuff that we read online and the news everyday! Gaddam! I woiuld NEVEr think some journalist makes that dam much! He makes more that a actual surgeon who SAVES LIVES!! Shits dumb!
This is not a surprise, why would she come in making what he made after he had been there for 20 years or more? If there is anyone should be complaining is Savannah because she should have got pumped up a little coming from the money they don’t have to payout anymore . Hoda took the job hands down and she looks pretty happy, soooooo.
I’m with everyone else, if he’s been there longer then it’s understandable that he’d be paid more BUT if she’s swinging that an additional hour then a bump in pay is warranted.
