[VIDEO] Wendy Williams Tells ‘The View’ Why Her Son Made Her Cry On TV
Two days after having a semi melton on her daytime talk show, Wendy Williams, visited The View, explaining just what triggered tears and an ugly cry on national television . Earlier in the week, Wendy began sobbing during on her Hot Topics segment, telling the audience that her 13-year-old son, Kevin Jr., no longer ‘liked’ her. She shared:
What I discovered this weekend is that my son doesn’t like me anymore. You know how it is, I know what it is…I don’t have my period. I’ve discovered this a while ago but the ball just got smacked home this weekend. He’s all into his father, you know how 13 year olds are, I was the same way when I was thirteen but it is breaking my heart. He says things to me like ‘Why are you so pissed? but he’ll say ‘WHY ARE YOU SO PISSED?!?’ like I’m pissed all the time, like I’m the one with the problem. He’s the one who’s thirteen and I get it and I know that this phase only last for four years …or something like that, but it is breaking my heart.
He doesn’t care about Wendy on TV , he doesn’t care about any of that. Anyway, she’s lucky that he likes her. Im going to go into the Madonna story but I do have to say this, at this time. I can’t understand men who disappear from their kids life. Thank God he has his buddy and father, ya know. He’s a father, he’s a buddy, they talk sneakers, they go for haircuts, they speed off in the cars and I’m just left there feeling like ‘why are you so pissed?’ Im not pissed, Im a Mom!
On Thursday (January 23rd), she explained to The View audience that for the last year, she’s been frustrated that he doesn’t listen to her.
For ’bout the last year, it has been, ‘Kevin stop leaving tooth paste chunks in the sink’. You tell ’em that once, you tell ’em that three times. If I ask you to do something once, you do it then.
When co-host Barbara Walters suggests that this type of behavior was typical for a teenager, Wendy responded,
Barbara, I don’t play that.
Wendy also explained that her son had actually watched the show live (because he was off for MLK Day) and immediately came down to her dressing room after her saw her cry about his recent behavior.
He was off from school…And he came down to my dressing room and was like, ‘Mommy, no I love you. You are so cool. I need to say this to you now so you understand’.
Later, he presented her with a personalized gift, expressing how much he appreciates her. Wendy showed the gift to the audience gushing:
He made me a card after this happened. This ‘5 Things I Love About Mom’.

That was great! And Barbara Walters looked like she was beside herself! She couldn’t get a word in…Wendy took over like it was her own show. Too funny! But I have to say, I love her realness & honesty about this situation with her son and I’m glad that he was compassionate & made her feel better. As a Mom, that means a whole lot.
