Additional updates have been released surrounding the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. On Friday (August 15th), the identity of the officer who shot Brown had been released, Darren Wilson, who has been on the police force for 6 years. The announcement was made by Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson.

According to the Associated Press, the officer has been on administrative leave since the shooting Saturday. AP reports:

Jackson said Wilson, along with other officers, were called to the area after a 911 call reporting a “strong-arm” robbery just before noon Saturday at a convenience store. He did not say if Brown was a suspect in that robbery and refused to answer any questions, saying he would release more information later Friday.

Ok if the “Robbery” was a factor, Mr. Brown should have been punished for his crime, If his hands were up, How was Mr. Brown a threat?

  2. Oh please says:

Your. Reporting is flawed! Not armed, strong armed! Meaning no weapons just pushing! So he pushed the shop owner and was murdered for it because he stole a dollar pack of cigars!

I didn’t know the penalty for theft was DEATH!

Agreed, No one deserves to be shot down in the street like a dog because they stole something. I remember a case where a woman named Omiama Nelson chopped up her husband and ate him and that woman is still alive and well in prison. BUT a young man that may have stolen a cigar and pushed a man must be put to death by gun fire from an officer. An officer that was put in place to protect all citizens, right or wrong. HMMMMM something is wrong with that!!!

Agreed. What does A have to do with B? These are two separate issues here. And I agree with Kim also…the media will try to find any and every bit of dirt on the victim to make their credibility tainted. They did it with Trayvon and they did it with Trayvon’s friend. I’m disgusted and fed up. This is not about race to me. This was a human being. What give someone the right to shoot someone down like a common dog? And the tear gas and the pellets….? They might as well have pulled out the water hoses. There is something seriously demented with our society here. And they wonder why our young Black men have no respect for police authority. Smh…

OK,they did exactly what I told my son’s they would do.”They”were going to depict Mr.Brown as the big dangerous black man. Therefore,it would justify the cop actions.Until we learn how they think we will never ever get justice. The sad part is yes! it will change how most people in America feel about Mr.Brown being shot. That is why they showed the footage. The saddest part is some of us will feel it was justified. We will be divided again and it will happen again.I don’t care about, well it shouldn’t matter that he was black. This happened to a human being.Well guess what?I’m black and that’s who I care about.I’m concerned about the way our men are treated.I have two big black sons and they aren’t criminals or criminal minded. But,they’re afraid of the Police who are suppose to protect and serve them.

Yes I don’t view things the same way I did before. If he did not do this then he might be alive today.

True, if he hadn’t committed a crime etc etc etc…….but crime or not black males are being murdered in the streets daily by cops and they don’t always have this story. Won’t forget the husband to benin NY….day b4 his wedding and so many more. The end result is always the same whilr the dude that shoot up a movie theater is still alive. Sad world

Please see the post by TheJasmineBrand on the coroners report. Micheal was shot at least 6 times; two of which fatal wounds to his head. It seems like more consideration is given to a wild buck than a human being. Reports stating he was unarmed and surrendering. Six shots, really Mr. Officer!?
