Here’s part of the some-what entertaining reunion from the cast of, “Basketball Wives.” The show starts off w/ a recap of the season, with high and low lights. Gloria Govan was missing from the reunion show, as she chose not to attend (not surprised).

Here’s the clip of Sandra (affectionately referred to as, “Plastic Surgery”) addressing rumors and allegations by the cast. She also addresses her nickname, Plastic Surgery. At the end of the clip, you’ll see Suzi throw a bucket of water on Sandra.

***What’s up with throwing drinks, glasses and water on each other? Is that a Miami thing? Not encouraging violence, but if you’d like to fight someone, then “bust a move,” as in throw a blow or something. This is silly. Who does that???

Drake Responds to Lil Kim's Female Dog Reference

Drake responds to Lil Kim’s recent comments about him acting bitchy,

I really dont’ care. My biggest thing is sometimes I get a little impulsive when people start talking about people that I love.  I really don’t care what you say about me, you can say whatever about me, I’ll never respond to it, I’ll never react to it but when you start talking about the people I love I do get a little more reactive and that’s all that happened right there. Like I said Nicki’s got album’s that’s climbing the charts and ‘Thank Me Later’ is out…it’s about relevant people today.”

***It’s about relevant people today? Shut up.

Kelly Cutrone, "Lady Gaga looks like Dolly Parton after a murder."

Kelly Cutrone is a very well-known fashion publicist in the industry and owns People’s Revolution, a PR and branding firm w/ offices in NY, LA and Paris. She stars in her own reality show, “Kell On Earth,” and recently penned If You Have to Cry, Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You. The lady has a mouth on her, to say the least. Can we say, shoots from the hip? Peep her Page Six interview below:

Is there anyone you just couldn’t work with?
Philippe Starck. I love his designs, but I just found him to be ridiculous. We went into a meeting, and he started rattling on about how there should be a parade with a hundred people wearing masks of his face, and how the public needed to know him because he could make a toothbrush chic. I actually got up in the middle of the meeting and was like, ‘This is not for us. He doesn’t like me, I don’t like him. I’m out.’?”

The Fashion world is obsessed with Lady Gaga. Are you a fan?
I don’t really care for her. I know everybody thinks she’s really great, and fashion people are happy because she’s one of the few girls who will wear a look off the runway. But having grown up with people like Debbie Harry and Alice Cooper and Kiss, I just don’t really see anything very original about what she’s doing. I don’t like her style. I find it to be very violent. She looks like Dolly Parton after a murder.

What do you think of Michelle Obama as a style icon? She’s cool. She has done her part for the fashion industry as an intelligent, beautiful first lady. It’s about time we had a hot first lady. It’s the first time in 50 years that people look like they’ve had sex in the White House. Full story here.

Kelly quotables…”You can’t know what it’s like to feel holy until you know what it’s like to feel really fucking evil. And you can’t be birthed again until you’ve died.”

“Sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are the ones your soul needs most.”

“You may wanna kiss her on the cheek, but put a gun to her back to make sure she stands up straight.”

“And I think between the ages of 15 and 32, don’t worry about getting married, don’t worry about settling down, don’t worry about having a baby. Give birth to yourself.”

Drake Visits Weezy In Jail, Describes Experience

While pumping his upcoming album, Drake shared (via MTV News) his visit w/ Lil Wayne in Rikers.

“It was just not the country club. It wasn’t his Miami condo. It wasn’t Atlanta. It wasn’t Tree Sound Studios, all the places I’m used to seeing him. It wasn’t Club Liv in Miami. It wasn’t any of them.”

“He kept looking to the window. He’d look up at the window almost like he’s looking right through it. It’s frosted, so you can’t see out. I was like, ‘Why does he keep staring through the window? There’s nothing out there.’ To him, there’s a whole world moving out there that he hasn’t seen for so long. He was just like, he told me something I never thought I’d hear him say, which was, ‘You’re the ultimate artist. You’re better than me. You don’t have the tattoos, you don’t cause any trouble. People like you.’ He was like, basically, ‘Look at me and look at you.’

(((Apparently, Drake’s never visited anyone in jail before–not that he should have.)))

Drake's "Find Your Love" Video Girl

Written by thejasminebrand in Uncategorized

Vibe chopped it up with Maliah Michel, Drake’s leading lady in the “Find Your Love” video. They’ve also been rumored to be a “couple.” Her background and how they met is interesting.

Short & Dirty: She was in the AmeriCorps program, struggled financially and started to strip, bought a house in Vegas w/ her fiance, who became addicted to drugs, “found” Jesus and became a bible-thumper, then went back to stripping.

How & why she started stripping: “My sister and I stayed in a one bedroom apartment with her two kids. We were basically just sharing everything we had and holding each other down the best we could. But when I turned eighteen — I went to the strip club and that’s when I started making my own money. I got my first gig at a club in Beverly Hills. Yea, I started working at a black club, and I was making five-hundred dollars a night, easy. And when you’re nineteen —that’s great money, but it was a pretty rough environment, girls had pimps, there was constant fighting and drugs were always around.”

How she transitioned into music videos: “A director who I met, Derrick White, was trying to get met to do videos for a while and I finally just said yes one day. He casted me in the Ying Yang Twins feat. Mike Jones “Bad” video. After that Sean Cummings who was working for Smooth said he wanted to shoot me. Then everything started rolling along. King hit me up after that and gave me my first feature. But it took me a while to get my name out there.”

How she met Drake: “Drake had actually come to the club where I work at in Houston called Dreams. I think that’s where he first saw me. I didn’t even get to speak to him that night and like a week later everybody started telling me Drake shouted me out in a song. I thought that it was so cool because I hadn’t even talked to him before. I mean, obviously he saw something he liked (laughs).”

How she landed “Find Your Love”: “A friend of his Jazz Prince, J.Prince’s son, called me and told me that his artist wanted me to come to Jamaica to shoot this video. At the time I didn’t know it was Drake, so I was like “Oh by the way, can you tell Drake thanks for the shout out”. And right after that he told me he called me back. So later on that night Drake called me directly and told me that he was the one shooting the video and how he wanted me for the lead part. I got to admit I was really geeked and could barely talk.”

Their video chemistry: “It was so funny because when we were shooting the beach scene. The director, Anthony Mandler, was like “Come on, Come on! You got to make me feel this!”. And we had never kissed or anything before, so I just went for it and kissed him! And we started kissing for real and everybody just  started cheering.”

On Drake’s mama: “Yea, she’s amazing… a really beautiful person. His mother really gave me a whole other opinion of him, even though my opinion was very high. He’s just  amazing as far the respect level and his mother helped me to see that it wasn’t an act. That’s all I’ll say.”

Jadakiss Calls Lil Kim/Minaj Beef "Corny"

Written by thejasminebrand in Uncategorized
Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+Pin on PinterestShare on LinkedIn

I know that we are all over the Lil Kim v Nicki Minaj beef, but I do like to hear what other rappers have to say, especially male rappers. Jada tells Jenny Boom Boom, of Connecticut’s 93.7, that he’s unimpressed.

“I think it’s kinda corny,” Jada told radio personality Jenny Boom Boom. “I can’t knock Kim for saying whatever she wants to say about Nicki but you could have been said it. That’s the only thing I feel. Don’t wait until she gets scorching hot to try to go at her. She’s been copying her since she came in with the big crotch photos shoots so if you want to just say something, you had to [say something] when she came out. It looks kinda corny like she’s trying to get a little, you know what I mean, looks like she’s trying to reap some benefits. She’s the Queen Bee, that’s hands down, I think she’s just paying homage, if you follow Nicki, she’s got a little Kim in her, she’s got a little bit of everybody…I can’t really knock her for that. When you’re in this game and heating up, they want to see you go at somebody before you even get your real stripes, you gotta have your nice little battle or something significant and even y’all get involved, the media, the TV networks, to see what the outcome is so…she writes her own rhymes and she’s nice, so you know, let’s see what happens…”
