Recap, Real Housewives of Atlanta, Episode 3

Your favorite girl Yosh is in the building…minutes after it aired, I’ve got the recap of the 3rd episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

This episode was quite the yawn-fest…To summarize:

Kim– performed in front of a million and ten gay men. She showcased her line of wigs, while packing, and apparently has pet names for them all.

Speaking of pets, NeNe– adopted a dog named Playa. While at the park, Nene sits her youngest son down to talk with him about the rumors about Brice (her older son) having issues with “the law.” Nene tries to shelter her youngest son. Great try, but boring for TV.

Dwight shows up at Sheree’s house with his publicist. Sheree confronted him about the rumors that he spent $30k on her fashion show last season. There was a little back and forth about the items that he purchased. Nothing was settled. (Seperate blog post about the $30k)

They also showed a scene with Phaedra in the kitchen doing what she feels “a proper southern woman”  does. Apparently only southern women cook for their husbands. Phaedra notes that because Apollo was raised in a white household, they have some cultural differences. Phaedra plans to “whup” her kids, while Apollo doesn’t feel violence solves behavioral problems. This whole scene is staged a little too much. He’s a terrible actor! More importantly, did anyone see the tatto that he has  on his arm of an afro pic? (Me neither).

Sheree visits her 24 year old daughter, Tierra, who is “shacking” with her boyfriend Damon. It is quite clear and evident by their conversation that they do not have the typical close “mother, daughter” relationship. Sheree had her daughter, again whom we’ve never seen prior to this episode, as a teenager and reiterates a few times w/ Tierra that she is too fine and fabulous to be a grandmother. O_o .

Back at the white party, Kim is getting ready for her big party in front of thousands of gay men. She even tries (and does) employ Kandi as her back-up singer. Chile please (OchoCinco voice)! I can’t take this much longer! Lady GaGa much?

Relationship mentors visit Phaedra and Apollo. During this scene, we learn that Apollo and Phaedra dated when she was in college, which was before he went to prison. He was released and their courtship after that was a whirlwind. During dinner with their mentors, they talk about the different love languages, and Phaedra clearly communicates that her love language is receiving gifts.  Uhm come on girl. Is he even working? He lets everyone at the table knows that since he was incarcerated, his perspecitve on life is MUCH different than hers. He feels buying a $3,900 pair of Versace shoes is not a good decision since they have a baby on the way and not a proper way to lead as the “man of the household.” Meanwhile, he’s not even sitting at the head of the table. Phaedra is! FOHWTBS!!!!!!!! (…Note from the editor, IDK what the hell this means, but Yosh does)

Fast forward to Kim’s questionable performance at the “White Party,” where she performed Tardy for the Party. In short, Kandi REALLY helped Kim out on stage and served as her “hype man.” She owes Kandi for that one! Oh and she should thank the stylist for preventing her boobs from popping out of her damn dress too! Nice Kim. Im out on that note.

See yall next week. This episode was a waste of 60 minutes I can’t get back!
