Aretha Franklin Wants Halle Berry to Play Her in Biopic

While chatting with Wendy on the Wendy Williams show yesterday, Ms. Aretha Franklin confirmed that ideally she would like Halle Berry to play her (Aretha), in an upcoming biopic, based off of her autobiography, “Aretha: From These Roots.” In a press release sent out last September (2010), Franklin indicated that she wanted Berry to play her, and Academy Award winner — Denzel Washington — to play her father, who was a prominent Baptist minister and civil rights leader in Detroit. She also wants Terrence Howard to play Smokey Robinson. In non-movie news, Franklin is said to be recovering fully from an unconfirmed illness.
(**I’d like Beyonce to play me in a biopic too, so whatever.)
