Updated: Mary Harvey Calls Radio Station + Visits Tom Joyner Morning Show

Steve Harvey’s ex-wife, Mary Harvey, woke up feeling extra froggy this morning. She called into a New York radio station (Power 105.1) and gave her side of the story. And baby, if you thought those video clips were over-the-top, you ain’t heard nothing yet. Yikes. Here’s a summary of her conversation:
- They were married for 10 years, lived together for 5 years beforehand.
- On his infidelity: “He was always a cheater, I didn’t always know. It got worse when he got more access (to money).” She also claims that he may not have always been the most ‘protected’ lover. (Ouch.) She suggests that Steve had an affair with current wife, Marjorie and explains, “his current wife shoulda left herself out of our marriage. Marjorie selfishly wanted my life and Steve wanted Marjorie.”
- On Steve being a relationship expert: “We need to re-think that whole situation and ask some serious questions. Accountability. If you concentrate long enough of what a person says, the answer is right there.”
- On their financial status before he became a celebrity: “Steve and I were absolutely broke. In the worst kinda way. Pinto beans and jiffy cornbread. He was making $25 a week on comedy.” She explains that initially, Mary worked as the bread-winner.
- On why she decided to divorce Steve: “I no longer could deal with what he was doing. Several instances. Marjorie was one of many.” She had actually filed divorce three times; they (Steve and Mary) decided to use a mutual attorney, so that the public would be unaware of the divorce. The judge instructed the couple to divide the property. Steve never got back to her on the property division. Long story short, she received a total of $400,000.
- How and why does Steve have their son: Initially she had custody of their son, Wynton, until the end of 2008. Emotionally, she was unable to take care of their son. Wynton missed his father and she sent their son to live with Steve and Marjorie. She also says that Steve disowned their 26 year old, Steven. Steven is not Steve Harvey’s biological son, but he took care of him since he was four years old.
- On allegations from her (former) personal assistant: (Backstory–last week, Mary’s former assistant, Jocelyn, spoke out and said that Mary was basically unstable and is the reason why Steve did not land a TV gig on Oprah’s OWN network). Mary agrees that Jocelyn was right in the fact that she was emotional and erratic. She blames her own actions on the divorce that her and Steve were going through. She does dispute that she “gave” her son away to Steve. (Sidebar: Mary confirms that her assistant was not fired, but was released by her. She also shares that Mary gifted her assistant with a valuable piece of property while she was her assistant.)
- Steve alleges that Mary Harvey is the reason that he didn’t receive his own show on Oprah’s OWN Network. Steve suggests that Mary had a conversation with Oprah, that resulted in Steve not getting his own show. Steve is suing Mary now for this. Mary disputes this allegation.
- On Steve’s hygiene: Charlemagne mentions that he worked with Steve on a radio show while in NYC and noticed that Steve never washed his hands. Mary replied, “There was a whole alotta things he never usta wash.” (Yikes)
- The interview ended with Mary being questioned about Steve’s hair/wig/hairline. They flat out asked if he was rocking a wig. She sorta giggled and side-stepped the question.

If Steve just paid Mary the half she deserved, he wouldn’t be going through all this. $400k…really? What’s done in the dark eventually comes out in the light.smh
I thought his book was full of ish. He wasn’t saying anything progressive. Big teef self…
I do not have enough information at this time to judge how believable I think Mary Harvey’s story is, but I do have a couple of questions; If Mary Harvey was left without any money, how can she afford three therapists and a foundationA? Also, her son Wynton is 13. I find it hard to believe that even a young teenager who wanted to call his mother couldn’t figure out a way to do it. She could have even bought him a phone card which he could use at any phone any where. She makes it sound as if Steve Harvey is the most powerful person in the United States, even more powerful than the courts. President Obama isn’t that powerful. How is Steve Harvey able to do everything that she claims he did? “and what money has she been living on all these years?”
