Shaunie O’Neal Talks Newest Reality Co-Star, “I wouldn’t say she’s getting along.”

Last week, I shared the trailer of the upcoming season of VH1’s Basketball Wives. With this season, comes a new cast mate, Meeka Claxton. Meeka is the wife of Speedy Claxton and from the looks of things, her entrance into the show ain’t been easy for her. Shaunie O’Neal talks about this new chica on the scene with Sister 2 Sister. On how Meeka was selected to join the show: “None of us knew Meeka before the show. She reached out to production. She showed a lot of interest and stayed real persistent… It was different to have somebody reaching out that I don’t know at all. She seemed excited about it. So, we thought, ‘What the heck.'”

On whether Meeka gets along with the cast: “You’re coming into a bunch of ladies who already have relationships: good or bad. That’s a difficult thing. I wouldn’t say she’s getting along. I would definitely not say that. Trying to please everybody can get you in trouble. It’s not working out quite like she had planned.” The new season starts Monday, May 30th.
