Dancing Dopeness :: Laurieann Gibson Nominated for EMMY

Dance choreographer Laurieann Gibson has been nominated for an EMMY for “Outstanding Directing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special” for her work in Lady Gaga’s HBO Special, “Monster’s Ball.”
In a statement, she said, I am so completely floored, excited and humbled to be acknowledged by the academy. Directing the “The Monster Ball Tour Special” on HBO was a reward in and of itself and now to be honored among such an esteemed group of fellow nominees is quite simply, a dream come true.
In addition to her work with Lady Gaga, Gibson has been on the scene for the past ten years–contributing to the images and choreography for entertainers like– the Dixie Chicks, Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Mary J. Blige.

She was spotted on twitter, tweeting her excitement:
