Rihanna’s ‘Talk That Talk’ Hits #1 Spot

As we always say, Numbers. Don’t. Lie. Rihanna is back on top with another #1 album for “Talk That Talk.” One measly day after debuting her album, Rihanna hit the number 1 spot on the iTunes chart. Rihanna’s strategic plan of releasing her songs a week in advance boosted her sales to the top 10 early. Although, fans love her new album, she’s receiving mixed reviews from the critics.

New York Times critic, Jon Caramanica, called her album “the blithest (carefree or no regard) Rihanna album.” That comment wasn’t the worst of it though; he also said that her voice is “certifiably blank.” She also received a scathing review from Randall Roberts from the Los Angeles Times who gave Rihanna 2 stars out of 4. He also said that her album, “contains little sweat, slobber or fluids and a lot of plasticized, inflatable insinuation.” Not every critic disliked her album. Chris Willman from thewrap.com said her singles are “less dark and more high-spirited” and “the album is at its musical best when it sticks to dance music.” But eff the critics, what are your thoughts about Rihanna’s “Talk That Talk” album?
