Cheating Costs :: Was Vanessa Bryant’s Divorce Timing Strategic?

As you know, the pending divorce between Kobe and Vanessa Bryant has taken a life of its own. Recently, more rumors and allegations surrounding Vanessa have surfaced. According to Vanessa’s ex-step father Stephen Lane, she (Vanessa) is a gold digger, who learned her ‘gold-diggin’ tactics from her mother. He told TMZ:
“Her mother taught her well to wait for the ten-year mark [before divorcing].
He, along with another source, claim that Vanessa had planned to divorce Kobe before, but in the state of California, a marriage that lasts ten years, is considered a long-term marriage. Now what does that mean? It means that Vanessa could potentially receive support for her entire life OR until she remarries.

Another Radar Online source disputes part of this claim, sharing that Vanessa attempted to divorce Kobe four years ago because of his infidelity, but Kobe had convinced her that he had changed his ways. The source shared:
‘Vanessa almost threw in the towel four years ago. Kobe has always had a slew of girlfriends, and the cheating was almost blatant. Vanessa had consulted with a divorce attorney, not Laura Wasser, who she has hired to represent her now. Kobe promised Vanessa he would stop cheating, and the two went to marriage counselling. Kobe did seem like a devoted husband, and Vanessa decided not to go through with filing at that time.’
Stay tuned…because unfortunately, the drama will continue!
