Great News :: Etta James Reportedly, “Stable and breathing on her own.”

Music legend Etta James has been battling leukemia, dementia and kidney disease for years.  Earlier in December, her live-in doctor announced that she is terminally ill and communicates mostly with nods and simple words. After having complications breathing, James was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital near her Riverside, CA home. And after about a week in the ICU on a respirator, James‘ friend and manager reported that she was no longer on a respirator  and was breathing on her own.

James explained:

“The hospital is preparing Etta for release from ICU to a step down unit. She is stable and breathing on her own. Her blood pressure is normal”
