Remembering :: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today, the nation honors the memory of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who would have been 83 years old today. 1986 was the year that a federal holiday honoring Dr. King was first observed and in 1994, Congress designated it officially as a national day of service. Here is footage of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream Speech” address at the March on Washington, August 28, 1963.

Honored to have had Great Black Men from the Past Shape our Current Present Lives. This world would be a tough place for me and all these “Swaggerific’ Balla'” type young men if we had to endure the outward racial conditions our older generations dealt with in America. Thank You to All Who Fought for our Futures and I WILL Work Hard to Make my kids & Grandkids futures even Brighter than mines is.. #ThankYouGodBless

A remarkable man whose life and deeds can not be summarized in words. I can’t wait to visit the memorial (with the revised quotation) in DC.
