Vanilla Ice Returns to TV for Another Season

The DIY Network has signed up for another season of an interesting home improvement show, The Vanilla Ice Project. The show is hosted by Rob Van Winkle (Vanilla Ice’s government name) and his crew who take a dilapidated Palm Beach mansion and upgrade it with technology and features not even on the market yet. Vanilla Ice says he first became infatuated with real estate in the 1990’s after his success with the single, “Ice, Ice Baby”. With his millions, he bought property all over the country including Miami’s Star Island, New York’s Greenwich Village, and LA’s Laurel Canyon.
“I went on tour for three years and never saw any of those houses”
After buying so much property so fast, he was afraid he might have wasted his fortune, so he sold it all.
“I literally made millions of dollars on them. I was like, you gotta be kidding me. It can’t be that easy. Let’s go buy some more.”
Since his 90’s stardom faded, Ice has been making a living in the real estate business flipping an estimated 100 properties in Florida alone. The show “The Vanilla Ice Project” came when a producer heard of Ice‘s success in the real estate market. Attempting to produce a show similar to A&E’s “Flip That House”,“The Vanilla Ice Project” was born. Can’t knock the hustle!
