[Video] Star Jones Returns to The View, “It was a bad emotional time…”

After a six year hiatus, Wednesday morning, Star Jones visited to The View, in what many viewers assumed would be an awkward return. And although it I wouldn’t call it exactly awkward, it did make for entertaining TV. Here’s a throw-back clip of Star announcing that she was leaving the show:
Fast forward to the present day, and in true Barbara Walters fashion, she chimed right in asking what was really up with Star’s abrupt exit from the show. And to that, Star replied,
“Do we care at this point?! I honestly don’t…It was a bad emotional time,…I made the decision that I wanted to go out on my own terms so that if I walked back here I’d feel good about it….It was ugly….Nasty things were being said in the media, it just wasn’t a good emotional time…I came to congratulate all of you on what you have accomplished.”
The show became a bit lighter (sorta) when Barbara and Joy Behar mentioned Star’s gastric bypass.
“Just to clear it up, we tried to protect you….[But now] you look great, you look healthy. We are really happy that you’re back.”
