42-year-old Shonda Rhimes has had her fair share of success in her professional career. She has written, directed, and produced television series’ like Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and the Princess Diaries. But now she’s working on making her personal life just as enjoyable. In 2002, she adopted a daughter named Harper. And now, 10 years later, she has decided to adopt another bambino. Shonda took Emerson Pearl into her home this past February, but just revealed the news to the public in an interview with USWeekly.
“I’ve been writing adoption into storylines on my shows and only a few people close to me knew about my plans. I think the response was ‘Oh My Goodness,’ from a lot of people… Emerson is incredibly mellow. We’re just doing a lot of bonding right now. This is a happy time, I feel so lucky.”
For the new baby, Shonda had the beautiful pink room pictured above designed. Sweet!
