Community Dopeness :: Mayor Corey Booker Saves Woman From House Fire, Tweets Humble Gratitude

42-year-old Newark Mayor, Corey Booker, recently made national headlines for saving one of his neighbors from her burning home. On Thursday, Mayor Booker was on his way home, when he realized that his neighbor’s house was on fire. Although his security guard urged him to wait for the firefighters, Booker decided to take measures into his own hands. The story goes that Det. Alex Rodriguez had arrived just before Booker, and was able to save the three other house residents. But there was still one lady trapped inside the flames. Booker punched through the kitchen, was able to find the lady (while she yelled out for help), picked her up, and carried her out of the house. Once he got there, he collapsed on the ground, from exhaustion. Booker said,
“Honestly it was terrifying and to look back and see nothing but flames and to look in front of you and see nothing but blackness.”
The woman who Booker saved is now in stable condition.
