Tyrese Gives The Ladies Advice :: “Some of yall have horrible sex”
This week singer/actor Tyrese stopped by Vanquish Lounge in Atlanta, to promote his new album, “Open Invitation.” While interviewing with V-103 radio personality, Kenny Burns, Tyrese opened up about his daughter, career, and, most importantly, women. Peep a few excerpts:
On how his daughter changed his life:
“I didn’t have a bottom line, on the level that I do now, before I had her. The things you put up before you have a child are different from what you put up with after your kids, because you know that if you keep certain people in your life and keep doing certain things a certain way, its going to be them that ends up suffering because you can’t provide.”
On his many talents:
“Visions, ideas, and dreams are God-sent. If you don’t have people in your life that can help you to bring those things to life at some point, then they’re just there. So everybody that works with me is in motion all the time because I never sleep, and they aint gon sleep. If we sleep, we’re taking our blessings for granted. A blessing taken for granted becomes a curse. My mom told me that I was blessed with a lot of gifts but if you show the world all you have at one time its going to overwhelm them. So my process has been that one gift will help set up the next gift, and the next gift. They say its a jungle out here but the problem is that people keep swinging from the same vine. – swing from one vine to the next. This is America, I’m trying to take advantage of everything I can.”
On how women inspire his music:
“I only get in the studio motivated by women. I want to know what you’re thinking, feeling, what bothers you, what you’re stressed out about, what makes you horny, and while you’re horny what do you want to do with your horny. I have to sit down with women and have a conversation about what’s really on their mind. Most women see things from a different point of view. The challenge is how do I take their feelings and emotions and put them in a song.”
On the Double Standard:
“If women have sex with too many dudes, dudes call you [hoes] and all your own home-girls will call you out. When men have sex with a bunch of girls, we get props. So men are not as ready to settle down. We may be ready in our minds because we feel like you’re so beautiful, special, and consistent. But we still want to get some other [girls]. We want to spread our love just a little while longer while at the same time not losing you.”
On Marriage:
“I believe I’m ready, because I don’t want to be introducing my daughter to a new woman every other year. So at some point I will get married.”
On how to keep a man:
“A lot of women are very unrealistic. To have a man that’s attractive and successful, you have to be in the position to hold him down mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and sexually. Some of yall have wack sex. Some of yall are so consumed in your sexy that your sex is horrible. Your sexy attracts the man, but after you attract the man you’re not able to keep him.”
On filming himself during sex:
“I don’t ever film myself. My African Warrior is not exposed on camera, its not gonna heppen. Its no way that those photos or videos wouldn’t leak at some point. I don’t ever do that, I keep it safe.”
