Lil Wayne Tries To Trip-A-Referee :: Denied Entry At NBA Playoff Game & Vents on Twitter

Thursday night, some slight NBA shade was thrown Lil Wayne’s way, when he attempted to enter the Spurs-OKC playoff game 3 in Oklahoma City. Lil Wayne tweeted his disappointment, sharing:

Was going to go to the Thunder game tonight but was denied by the team in their arena. Wow. Smh. Go Spurs!

Ouch.

Wondering why Oklahoma refused to let Tunechi in the game? According to Dave Mahoney, Thunder Spokesman, Wayne’s people did contact them, but requested front row seats which were sold out. (BTW, Oklahoma has sold out all their games this season regular and playoffs.) Mahoney explained:

“We’d love to have him at a game, but like anyone else, he needs a ticket.”

Meanwhile, Mack Maine, who was the person who tried to get the tickets for Lil Wayne and his manager Cortez, clarified with MTV about the incident:

“He finally just let me know, they not really tryin’ to sell tickets to him. They said they’ll give him some tickets on the front row behind, but they’re not really tryin’ to have him sittin’ courtside….Then they also sent a message back sayin’ the OKC policy was no special parking and no escort, so he gotta walk in like everybody else. Why would you actually want to cause pandemonium? That’s gonna make it harder for your security….We’re not no prima donnas, but that’s just common sense, for our safety and the safety of your building. We were basically just tryin’ to take our brother to the game.”

Happy Friday!
