Ledisi Pens “Better Than Alright: Finding Peace, Love and Power”

Some of us haven’t heard too much from Ledisi since the release of her Pieces of Me album last year, but she is definitely not letting folks forget her presence. Recently, Ledisi released Better Than Alright: Finding Peace, Love and Power, a 176 page coffee table book that gives insight into her life’s journey which includes photos, poetry and inspirational quotes.

Each chapter starts off with a emotionally detailed description of a life changing event, such as how her family dealt with aftermath of Hurricane Katrina (she hails from New Orleans) and how she made peace with her late stepfather for molesting her as a child. The soulful songstress went on a short 5 city book tour that started in NYC, and made her rounds with Essence mag execs to ring the bell on Wall St. She finished her tour in a D.C. at a Barnes & Noble book signing. And to keep the momentum going, June 23rd starts her Be Good To Yourself tour with Eric Benet. Better Than Alright: Finding Peace, Love and Power can be found on amazon.com for $11.53.
