Ear Hustlin’ : Is ‘R&B Divas’ Firing Nicci Gilbert + Will Kelly Price Replace Her?

It appears that the drama factor will be added to TV One’s new reality show R&B Divas. According to Radar Online, plans are underway to fire one of the show’s cast members, Nicci Gilbert-Daniels (formerly of Brownstone). The show currently includes cast members Faith Evans (who’s an executive producer) Monifah Carter, Syleena Johnson, Keke Wyatt and Nicci Gilbert-Daniels. An alleged insider says that the network is planning to drop Nicci from the show before they begin shooting the second season this fall. The source claims:
“Despite doing interviews with her whole message of positivity, Nicci was a terror to work with on the show…Publicly, she says she wanted this show to be the anti- Housewives, but privately her actions made her a fit for Oxygen’s Bad Girls Club.”
What makes this alleged story even more messier is the fact that Nicci is credited as a co-executive producer on Divas. What’s more? Her replacement may be soulful singer Kelly Price. Meanwhile, there’s been no official statement from the network, Faith Evans or Nicci Gilbert. But stay tuned, hopefully we’ll get to the bottom of this. P.S. Would you watch the show without Nicci Gilbert? And would Kelly Price be a smart addition? [Editor’s Note: Nicci RT’ed this story, so we find it VERY unlikely that she’s been booted from the show, but hell, we’ve been wrong before :)]
