Rohan Marley Calls Wyclef A Liar, Says He Knew Lauryn Hill’s Baby Wasn’t His

I’ll be honest, I’m a bit surprised that this Lauryn Hill story has grown legs. Last week, we learned that Wyclef had released a memoir (called Purpose, An Immigrant’s Story). In the memoir he claims that while he was married, he had an affair with Lauryn (all while the two were in the same group, ‘The Fugees’). While the two were having an affair, Wyclef allegs that Lauryn became pregnant and led him to believe that the child was Wyclef’s child. Long story short, the beautiful bambino arrives and he learns that the child isn’t his (Wyclef’s). Now, while promoting the memoir, Wyclef discussed this story with outlets and everyone was buzzing about it. Fast forward to the present day and Rohan Marley, the child’s father (Rohan and Lauryn dated from 1996 to 2011 and have five children and a possible, together), says Wyclef is being untruthful about his story. According to Rohan, Wyclef actually played matchmaker, came to the hospital when their (Lauryn and Rohan) child was born and knew all along that the child was not his. In fact, Rohan says that he does know that Lauryn and Wyclef had been intimate before, but that had ended when they (Rohan and Lauryn) began dating. Rohan confirmed with TMZ Wyclef:

“knew from jump that was my son from the day [Lauryn] was pregnant. They were definitely not messing around, or he would never have given me the okay.”

He also suggests Wyclef is

“just saying false things to get book headlines…he knows he is fronting himself.”

Meanwhile, Wyclef continues with his version of events, saying

“There is no way that I would have shown up in the hospital in that circumstance to wait for a baby to be born if it was not mine. The idea of a memoir is to tell the truth. I know that often the truth hurts, but a lie hurts even more.”

Who do you believe? Do you think that Lauryn misled both Rohan AND Wyclef? Or do you think that Wyclef exaggerated his story, to further enhance the marketability of his memoir?
