After 13 Days, Nelson Mandela Still In Hospital With Lung Infection
Very concerning news for Nelson Mandela. On December 8th, he was admitted into a South African hospital after being diagnosed with a lung infection and undergoing gallstone surgery. Presidential spokesman Mac Maharaj said Thursday that there is no update on his medical status. President Jacob Zuma also chimed in on the 94-year-old’s status, stating that Mandela required “extraordinary care” due to his age and could spend several more days in the hospital recovering. [AP]
