[Click here for the backstory about the show’s history and petition.] To date, the 36-year-rapper has not spoken out about the show’s alleged end. Wednesday afternoon, he stopped by Hot 107.9, shedding light on the rumors, why the show was not as negative as people perceived it what he’s doing to get the show aired. Peep a few excerpts below.

On the status of the show:

Basically, I think it’s cancelled.

On how he feels about the petition:

I feel like they didn’t give the show a chance to see what’s really going on. She made her assumptions off the trailer. My life story wasn’t peaches and cream. My mama was on drugs. My daddy was elsewhere and my gramma raised me and she died from cancer when I was 1). I was out there in the streets.

On how the show was not about negativity:

I ain’t had no child in 11 years. Basically, what I’m doing is telling my story. Showing how Shawty Lo turned a negative into a positive. The show wasn’t about ‘we finna be fighting’, this going on. A lot of father’s don’t take care of one child. I’m hands on. My kids love they father. I be on Instagram with my kids every weekend; whenever I can be there.

On if he feels the title of the show, gave the public a negative impression, of the show’s intent:

Yeah, I really understand…they have the right to think that, but at least give the show a chance to see what’s going on. They making an assumption off a 13 minute trailer. You know, I’m working hard for the show, for it to air because people do want to see it. My kids’ they disappointed right now. But my show is not about no negative. It’s a positive.

On people suggesting that he’s a deadbeat father:

And you wil not hear [I was a deadbeat], because I’m hands on. In the beginning, in the first couple a years, I’m not gon’ lie I wasn’t there with my kids. I was like a dad at first, I became to be a father.

On his relationship with the mothers of his children:

All the baby mamas is cool; I just have a problem outta just one.
