[Photos] Jamie Foxx, Rosie Perez Give Students ‘Master Class’
Actor/singer Jamie Foxx is sharing his wealth of professional wisdom with a group of budding student actors.
This week, the Oscar and Grammy winner gave a ‘Master Class‘ to 50 students Urban Arts Partnership’s (UAP) Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Academy (the Academy).
Introduced by actress Rosie Perez (UAP’s Artistic Board Chair ), Jamie spoke about his start in the entertainment industry telling students:
My Grandmother told me my music would take me where I needed to go.
He also spoke about the responsibility of being a black artist, recalling a time when Keenan Ivory Wayans told him that, as a black artist, he had to be
a thousand times better and make no mistakes.
Students then performed for Jamie, and received thoughtful and supportive feedback to each student. After the ‘Master Class’, both Jamie tweeted:
