‘Preachers of LA’ Renewed For 2nd Season! Spin-Off Plans Underway
Known for their fiery sermons, community outreach and pure entertainment it appears that viewers are fascinated with the lives of preachers. And we’ll be seeing more of this type of non-scripted TV, thanks to Preachers of LA. Monday (January 27th), Oxygen announced that the show would return for a second season.
On season one, reality TV junkies got a glimpse into the lives of six high-profile pastors from Los Angeles: pro skateboarder Pastor Jay Haizlip, Grace Jones‘ brother Bishop Noel Jones, Bishop Clarence McClendon, gospel singer Deitrick Haddon, Bishop Ron Gibson and Pastor Wayne Chaney.
A few cast members shared their excitement about returning for another season. Christy Haizlip, Pastor Jay’s wife wrote:
It’s official Season 2 Coming this Fall #preachersofla #staytuned#hardatwork #oxygen
Deitrick Haddon wrote:
It’s official!! Preachers of LA is reloaded for season 2!! The people called for it and we’re coming back this summer! Yeeeup #PreachersofLASeason2
Deitrick’s new bride, Dominque chimed in seeming exciting but a bit apprehensive
This may be your greatest dream or greatest nightmare, either way, #PreachersofLA WILL be back for a season 2! Airing this summer! @oxygen@preachersofla #spreadtheword
Now the big question is who will NOT return for season 2? From what we’re told season 2 has already began filming. The network hasn’t confirmed the official cast, but who may be apprehensive about returning is Bishop McClendon. During the season, he released a video interview suggesting that one argument (between him and Deitrick) on camera, was intentionally orchestrated by Oxygen producers.
What I recognize now is that I was set up to be put in a crossfire.
Spin-off cities are also in the works. Rod Aissa, Senior Vice President, Original Programming and Development for Oxygen Media hinted that the franchise would be branching off to other cities:
‘Preachers of L.A.’ touched the heart strings of our Oxygen viewers. They were captivated by the triumphs and tribulations of these men of God and the amazing women and families that stood alongside them. We look forward to bringing more of these compelling stories to life both in LA and around the country.
Are you excited for the return of Preachers of LA and what other cities should the show consider?

This show is crazy, they deserve a second season.
I agree I am ready for season 2.
I love love love love Preachers of L.A. I love the fact that it’s all about Jesus no matter what others say, especially the “church folks” who ALWAYS judging other people. Church folks act just like the Israelites when Moses was sent from God to help them, after all the helping they STILL have him such a hard time. So look many Sunday “church folks” who give God ONE day for about 2-4 hrs and the devil has the rest. So to all the “church folks” please have several seats. And worry about ur cross you have to carry. God got this and he don’t need your help with judgement.
