Oprah’s Uber Low Key Birthday Included Pajamas, Roses on Steroids & Maria Shriver

Here’s what a low key birthday looks like. Oprah Winfrey quietly turned 60 this week (January 30th), in the comfort of her California home. Having lunch with her close girlfriend Maria Shriver, Oprah shared a few photos of her enjoying a few gifts (the photo above were long-stemmed roses from Cicely Tyson) sent from from friends.

This modest birthday was much more modest than originally planned. According to E! News, she was slated to have a blowout bash

but the guest list was getting out of control so she decided to cancel

a source confirmed. Oprah’s best friend Gayle King spoke with E! News about the gift she had plan for her bestie and shared:

It’s not like Oprah needs anything, but she loves all things, books…and she’s a fan of cashmere. She has everything, but I don’t care who you are, everybody likes a present.

A few days before turning 60, she burned a few calories at Hollywood’s Soul Cycle.
