UPDATE: Anita Baker Releases Statement After Alleged Arrest Warrant

Has one of our parent’s favorite artists gotten herself into some trouble? Reportedly, Anita Baker has an arrest warrant in Detroit. The Grammy-winning singer, who lives in Detroit, has a bench warrant issued for her. According to TMZ,  the 56-year-old failed to show up to court for a hearing in her current legal battle with a paint and decorating company. It’s widely reported that Ray Smith Painting and Decorating has sued the singer, claiming she owes the company $15,000 for services it performed inside her Grosse Pointe home — and so far, hasn’t paid. There’s no word on why Ms. Anita refused to pay the company. She hasn’t responded to reports yet, but tweeted the following message:

Guess she sounds a bit surprised. Story developing.

Anita took to her twitter page, Friday morning, writing the following message:
