Chris Brown Taken Into Custody By US Marshals, Momma Breezes Defends Son On Twitter

Not so good news for Chris Brown. According to numerous reports, Brown, has been picked up by US Marshals and is en route to a federal holding facility in San Bernardino, California and will head to Washington D.C. to  for pre-trial hearings later this week. Following a boot from rehab last month, the 24-year-old singer was sent to jail, stemming from a probation violation after being convicted of attacking then girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009.

If you remember, Chris  is facing misdemeanor assault charges after he and his bodyguard got into an altercation with a outside of a Washington D.C. club last October.

Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos filed a motion to refute the prosecutors signed documents that state the singer will be flown to DC under the custody of the U.S. Marshals, arguing that he needs time to prepare for trial and should be in his custody. His attorney returned today (Apr 3) for a hearing regarding his motion but was denied, NBC Washington confirms. Citing he was taken into custody of the Marshals and will be brought to D.C. in shackles. According to TMZ,

[Geragos] will try to get the charges dismissed because he believes prosecutors inappropriately used the grand jury to gain an unfair advantage in the criminal case.

After the news, Chris’ mother, Joyce Hawkins, took to Twitter expressing her love and support for her son:

YOU ARE MY HEART AND I LOVE YOU. GOD IS WITH YOU.

She also displeasure with people celebrating the fact that he was still in jail.

HOW CAN ANOTHER PERSON LAUGH AND RECEIVE SO MUCH JOY FROM SOMEONE ELSES SORROW. I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND. 

Prior to today, Brown released  a duet with Ariana Grande “Don’t Be Gone Too Long” and just dropped the video for his song, ‘Loyal’. Long time on again/off again girlfriend Karrueche has remained by his side throughout this ordeal.

Earlier this week, she shared a phone call from him thanking all his fans before signing off with a love shout out to her stating,

Umm, calling up my fans, letting y’all know I love ya’ll…Thank ya’ll for all the support. Thank you for everything. The new video just came out so hope y’all enjoy that. Ummm, most importantly, K, Karrueche, I love you, so thank you baby.
